Scope and Contents

This collection contains approximately 16,100 postcards that represent Florida's culture, environment and history. Postcards depict a variety of images, such as beaches, streets, hotels and government buildings, plants, landmarks, and tourist attractions. The collection primarily consists of postcards from the first half of the twentieth century. Many have been postmarked and mailed.

Abstract This collection includes postcards from various locations around the world and is divided geographically into two main categories: United States and Global. The United States series is organized by state, African American, and patriotic postcards. The Global series contains mostly European and Latin American postcards; however it also contains postcards from places such as Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
