Biographical or Historical Information
The Ybor City Chamber of Commerce was established in 1930 as a membership organization with the purpose of assisting and representing the various businesses of Ybor City, Tampa's National Historic Landmark District. The Chamber was incorporated in 1981 and continues to work for the economic development of Ybor City in partnership with organizations that have a vested interest in the historic district’s growth, preservation, and revitalization.

Custodial History
The records and other papers in this collection were generated by the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce and were part of a body of records stored in the old Centro Español building in Ybor City. This body of material included records from the Barrio Latino Commission, Latin Quarter Art Gallery, and the Ybor City Rotary Club. The records were apparently left in the building at the time the Centro Español club moved out in 1983. They were transferred to USF Special Collections in March of 1990 by the Trust for Public Land at the same time as the Centro Español de Tampa Records.
