Biographical or Historical Information
St. Pete Pride, Inc. is an LGBT organization in Pinellas County, Florida that promotes unity, visibility, self-esteem and a positive image of and among the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community of Tampa Bay and throughout the State of Florida by way of cultural and educational programs and activities. St. Pete Pride's philosophy is guided by social justice philanthropy, meaning that the organization harnesses the tools of philanthropy (granting, fundraising, communication and advocacy) to address the ways in which the LGBT community is connected to systemic inequalities that impact other marginalized and underrepresented groups in society. The organization strives to support non-profit organizations and leaders that work for structural change, and helps to increase the opportunity and engagement of those who are marginalized politically, economically, and socially.
