Biographical or Historical Information

William B. Moody was a pioneer settler of Riverview. He had extensive land holdings, owned the first hotel in the area, and in the years around 1900 operated a general store serving the Riverview region. His daughter Mary Elizabeth, a school teacher for many years, inherited the family home at 10606 Hackney Drive in Riverview. The house was built by a Mr. Hackney in the 1880s, and acquired by Mr. Moody around the turn of the century. The papers relate primarily to the operations of the Moody store and the Moody's business and personal affairs.
