Biographical or Historical Information
Otis R. Anthony is regarded for his work as a community organizer and activist and as host of a long-standing radio program on WMNF 88.5 FM. He served as executive assistant to Tampa Mayor Sandra "Sandy" Freedman. Anthony directed the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) Black History of Tampa Project between 1977 and 1978. He also served as diversity management director for the Polk County School District.

The collection includes audio recordings of Otis R. Anthony's poetry, as well as various essays recounting African American history in Tampa, FL. The collection also includes transcripts from the USF Department of Anthropology African Americans in Florida Project in Special Collections.
