Abstract
Lord Alfred Bruce Douglas (1870-1945) eloped with Olive Custance (1874-1944), the daughter of Colonel Frederic Hambleton Custance (1844-1925), in 1902. They had their first and only child, Raymond, in the same year. Colonel Custance did not approve of their relationship, perhaps because of Lord Alfred's association with Oscar Wilde (1854-1900).
