Abstract

The Andrew W. Manly collection includes LGBTQ+ publications and media, with a focus on British and American publishing firms. Material in the collection ranges from 1973-2015. Topics of interest include: Pride events, the HIV/AIDS epidemic and its impact on the LGBTQ+ community, LGBTQ+ pornography and erotica, queer club and bar culture, drag performers, sexuality, gender identity, LGBTQ+ films and literature, the leather community, safer sex practices, photography of the nude, LGBTQ+ friendly travel, cruising, and subcultures. Some material is designated for adult audiences and only available to patrons 18+. Please see the “Conditions Governing Access” note of this finding aid for more information.

Arrangement

Materials are separated according to audience for publications: those that are general culture and lifestyle magazines and publications that are intended for an adult 18+ audience. Within these groupings, items are arranged according to alphabetical order and enumeration.
