This collection contains materials separately created and collected by Cody Fowler and Steven Lawson. The materials have been combined into a single collection, and overlapping materials primarily document the civil rights of African American residents of Hillsborough County, FL.

This collection includes organizational documents such as committee meeting notes, financial records, professional correspondence, insurance records, and programs and announcements for special events.  Also includes theatrical playscripts which range in date from the mid-19^th to early 20^th century.

This collection documents the personal and professional lives of E. James Tokley and Joanna Tokley and includes original poetry written by James Tokley, photographs, and documents related to Joanna Tokley's work with the Urban League of Hillsborough County.
