This collection of documents is an artifical collection of historic materials collected by Special Collections. Included is correspondence, land deeds, finanicals, and assorted documents.
The collection consists of syndicated newspaper clippings, ephemera, correspondence, brochures, photographs, and articles written about the various places and people of Florida.
The collection documents the professional and political career of J. Allison DeFoor II. Also in the collection are DeFoor's extensive research files relating to his ancestor, Florida pioneer Odet Philippe [1775 - 1869].
The Julia Linebaugh King Papers have materials pertaining to her life including photo albums with pictures and genealogy information about the Linebaugh, Henry, King, and Willeaus families.
A collection of personal papers from Martin M. LaGodna, former associate professor of History at USF, and former Assistant Director of the American Association of University Professors, including his Dissertation from Florida State University and personal correspondence.
Collection consists of the financial and legal documents of the Plant Railway System, including bills of sale, claims, vouchers, deeds, mortgages, reports and a range of assorted documents, dating from 1874 to 1922.
This collection contains photographs taken in Florida in the 1890s by professional photographer C.H. Stokes along the route of the Orange Belt Railway (later the Sanford & St. Petersburg Railway), which became part of the Plant System of Railways. The photos were used by the railway companies to promote tourism and development.
Materials consist of correspondence, manuscripts, newspaper clippings, and photographs. The collection relates primarily to Fuller's activities as a real estate developer during and after the Florida land boom. Subjects covered include farming, fish, Florida natural history, Florida population and economy, geology, hurricanes, the New Deal, and real estate in Cuba, Levy County, Melbourne, Ocala and Sarasota County.
